• University of Warwick Learning Grid Example

The Learning Grid is 1300 square meter space located in a student services building about a 5-minute walk from the library. It offers a diversity of types of user-configurable and fixed spaces. It’s atmosphere is creative/ productive. A wide range of technologies are available. There is an effective use of curved dividers to define spaces and add visual interest.

The Learning Grid has made a big impact on campus. Other learning grids are being built (e.g., the Biomed Grid), with consultation from Learning Grid staff.

Students are also transferring the Learning Grid experience to their own spaces, creating “gridlets” in their living spaces. This has created a culture at Warwick of an independent, student-owned way of working across campus.
